We had no idea if we were having a boy or a girl. All we knew was that our baby was healthy. When Nicholas blessed us with his arrival on October 19, 2001, we were so happy. Our feelings of excitement changed to shock and the feeling of helplessness when we were told that he had Down syndrome. We had no clue what that really meant
Over the past seven years we have learned so much and gone through so many emotions. Thanks to Nicholas, we and others have discovered the true definitions of determination and unconditional love. We now feel it is our turn to give back and try to help others.

The Central PA Down Syndrome Awareness Group was founded in 2008. Current board members are:

Our families would like to help other families just like ours. The Central PA Down Syndrome Awareness Group will allow us to do just that.
